The Tiny Curiosity Collection brings new life to ordinary miniature objects through paint, ephemera, found materials and a little creative intervention.
Each 1:12 scale mirror or frame begins with an existing miniature piece that is individually repainted, distressed, embellished or otherwise transformed by hand. Layers of paper ephemera, beads, charms, sculptural details and other unexpected materials are added to create a one-of-a-kind miniature object with its own character and story.
Some pieces are ornate. Some are weathered. Some are botanical, romantic, eclectic or wonderfully peculiar. The materials and composition develop organically as each piece is created, so no two are exactly alike.
They can become artwork in a gallery, an antique mirror in a conservatory, an eccentric treasure in a curiosity cabinet, or the detail that gives an otherwise ordinary room its story.
